Good Morning and happy Sabbath everyone thanks for checking out this blog today. This morning I want to deal with Faith as that was the scripture that dropped in my heart this morning while waking up. Over the years I read Hebrews 11 and quite possibly too fast because while I understood the text and thought wow they did some great things by faith but it never really hit home until now. That's the great thing about Yah's word being a lamp unto our feet as it will really lead you into where you need to be. So let's examine this a little deeper shall we because there are some great takeaways in this passage of scripture. The first thing we notice is that Faith is likened to a substance. The definition of substance that I want to use is the second meaning (the real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence). I like this definition because usually, we are looking for something when it comes down to the need for faith. Now depending on which version of the Bible you are reading but the King James says the elders obtained a good report but I like the NIV version that says that this is what the ancients were commended for. Meaning that the father takes notice of faith or confidence that man places in things he hopes for but yet does not see. Chiefly because by faith we believe that the universe was formed by Yahs command out of what we can't see either. It stands to reason this will be an important factor in our lives because while science may try to explain away how the universe was formed only the creator knows for certain. But at least according to the Bible he appears to be pleased with those who believe he created this world and everything in it. And the people who put their confidence in him certainly did great exploits holding on to such beliefs. In the interest of time, I'll address a few, in particular, let's take Noah as an example since his story is quite popular. This guy had really had to be operating at a serious level of faith to not only warn people about something that seemed absurd then actually build something that would appear completely ridiculous. But as we all know in the end his faith and the actions he took thereafter brought him a great reward. Another great highlight in this passage is about Abraham going out into a foreign land (10 For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God). I find this passage so powerful as a believer Yah is the architect and builder of our lives as well. All things considered, the faith of the "ancients" are examples for us to learn from to be commended by the father as righteous. There are many other examples listed there so I encourage you to read the full chapter but another thing that stood out is that a prerequisite to pleasing the father is to believe that he exists. You cannot simply skim over this and for good reason because if you do not believe he exists, created the universe and you. How could you ever have the faith to receive good things from him? Remember family yes we are in the world but we are not of the world, therefore, we should not think as the world thinks about what is possible and what's impossible.
